Terms and Conditions

These Terms and Conditions set out the basis on which Spectrum Sisters provides autism and ADHD assessments. Please read them carefully.

1. Nature of Service

- Spectrum Sisters provides specialist autism and ADHD assessments.
- An assessment involves gathering information, using clinical interviews, diagnostic tools, and professional judgement.
- An assessment does not guarantee a diagnosis. The outcome may be that autism/ADHD is not identified, or that further investigation is recommended.

2. Informed Consent

- By signing this document, you confirm that you understand the nature and purpose of the assessment.
- You may withdraw from the assessment at any time, but fees already incurred remain payable.

3. Confidentiality and Information Sharing

- All information shared will be treated as confidential and stored securely in line with Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPS).
- By signing this document, you agree that Spectrum Sisters may contact and share relevant information with third parties involved in your care or support (such as GPs, counsellors, schools, or other relevant professionals) where this is necessary for the assessment process.
- Information will only be shared on a proportionate and need-to-know basis.
- Information may also be shared without consent if there is a safeguarding concern that requires disclosure.

4. Fees and Payment

- Fees must be paid in advance of the assessment unless otherwise agreed in writing.
- Cancellations made with less than 48 hours’ notice may be subject to a cancellation fee.

5. Professional Boundaries

- Spectrum Sisters provides assessment services only. We do not prescribe medication or provide crisis services.
- If additional support needs are identified, you may be signposted to appropriate services.

6. Safeguarding

- If information arises suggesting risk of harm to yourself, others, or a child/adult at risk, Spectrum Sisters has a duty to share this information with the relevant safeguarding authority.

7. Complaints

- If you are dissatisfied with the service, you are encouraged to raise this with Spectrum Sisters in the first instance.
- If the matter is not resolved, you may escalate your complaint to the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission if the complaint is related to services paid via NDIS.  Otherwise, you can complain to AHPRA (Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency).

8. Records and Reports

- A written report will be provided following your assessment.
- All Spectrum Sisters reports are produced in line with Autism CRC guidelines and are NHMRC complaint.
- If you are unhappy with your report in any way, you may contact Spectrum Sisters to discuss your concerns.
- Refunds are not offered.
- Spectrum Sisters is not responsible for how third parties (including but not limited to GPs, schools, employers, government agencies, or other organisations) interpret or act upon the report.
- It is your responsibility to confirm with any third party in advance what information they require from an assessment report before commissioning services from Spectrum Sisters.
- Spectrum Sisters cannot be held liable if a third party does not accept or recognise the report.

9. Client Responsibilities

- You agree to provide accurate and complete information to the best of your knowledge.
- You understand that withholding information may affect the outcome of the assessment.
